Swedish Man busted for illegal nuclear reactor

A Swedish Man has let his extensive interest of Physics and Chemistry gets too far, by purchasing radioactive nuclear material and attempting to make a nuclear reactor in his own kitchen.

The Swedish Man was trying to build a device that would split atoms in his apartment in Angelholm, Sweden.

The Police performed extensive raids on the home of the 31 year old Richard Handl, to find that he was in possession of large amounts of radium, americium and uranium.

The man had worked for months on the reactor, recording his experiments on a blog, where he said he created a miniature meltdown in his stove.

He later wondered if what he was doing was legal (hint: it isn't), he then called the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority asking if he was allowed to build a nuclear reactor at home.

They responded by sending the police.

The Police confiscated all of the radioactive material, including americium-241, a deadly substance found is smoke detectors.

Richard promised to the police to take a break from his obsessive and dangerous "hobby", be keeping his work on the "theatrical level"

According to an expert, Richard's Reactor would never have worked.

This "hobby" of buying nuclear waste from foreign waste sites costed the man in excess of $5000.
